Diwali blog hop - 2019

Hello friends,

I'm Raga here.

Hope you're all in full swing for Diwali celebration.

For those who are not aware of Diwali (for my international friends), here is a short description.

Diwali

Diwali, or Deepawali, is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. This festival is as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Christians.

Diwali is a five day festival of lights celebrated by the Hindus, Sikhs and Jains for a variety of reasons, although the main theme which runs throughout is the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

To celebrate, houses are decorated with candles and colourful lights and huge firework displays are held while families feast and share gifts.

 Blog Hop

To make the celebration more joyful, we have come up with a blog hop filled with wonderful inspirations and generous sponsors. Special thanks to all the sponsors for taking this hop to next level.

Special thing about this hop: Card Drive

As we are neck-deep in our celebrations, surrounded by our families, it would really be ungrateful if we miss to remember all those Real-life heros who make it possible for us to enjoy all this securely and fearlessly, in our homes. As a token of our gratitude and to acknowledge their   sacrifice for us, we sent out handmade cards to a few Army and Air Force units all over our country, as a part of this hop. A small effort from our side to convey that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
This was made possible by our teammie Ishani , who herself is a part of the Indian Air Force family.

These are the cards that were sent to the brave hearts from my side. I'm so happy as they were acknowledged by them with thanks and simple sweet talk over phone. We are so proud and grateful to honour our real heroes on this occasion.

My cards for the hop:

Card 1:

Techniques used: Ink smooshing, stacked diecuts to create dimension, ink blending, dry  embossing, handwritten sentiment

Card 2:

Here is my card in action mode,

Here is my card in action mode,

Hope you all like my cards. I'm so excited to hop along with you to see my friends' creations.

Punctuation Smiley

Hello crafty peeps,

Hurrah!! I'm so thrilled to be guest designing at CASology this week.

Thank you so much Melissa and team for this great opportunity.

The cue card at CASology for this week is 'Punctuation'.

You all may come across puctuation humours and obviously you all know how much punctuation matters! So definitely it's such an interesting cue with lots of possibilities.

Without further ado, let's see my take on this cue,

I used semicolon and parentheses (punctuation smiley) as my focal point with a pop of color (pink). The bold sentiment is handwritten by me. Hope you all liked my take and it's worth to stop by at CASology blog for more inspirations from DTs.

I'm joining in at,

Hello lovelies,

Here is my second card of the day using four petal fri-die from CAS-ual Fridays stamp store, that I won in last month encouragement challenge at calling all sistahs.

Let's go for the show off,

Can you see the centre petal holds the flower pattern from the tutu girl stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays!? I found that it adds so much interest to the flower. I also added a layer of vellum petal for soft look(got inapiins from photo at calling all sistahs) Hope you all liked it too.

Hello Autumn

Hello friends,

Today I have a stamped card to share with you all. Let's have a look,

The florals are from craftyscrappers' sending sunshine stampset. I kept the florals as my focal point and created the textured stripes as BG using tissues and watercolors. Also added vellum circle and dry embossed circle fussy cuts behind my florals for interests. Placed a twine bow and gum drop embellishments for added beauty. Hope you all liked it.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges,

You've got style

Hello friends,

A quick cas card incorporating origami dress, to share with you all after a busy day. Hope you are all doing well. Well, let's go for the show off,

I chose black and gold combo as autumn is approching. The sentiment is handwritten by me.

I think I have found my style of cardmaking. (Cas with interactive at times in a perky way fully handmade in the sense no stamping no diecuts). What do you think of my style? And what's yours. Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below. Hope you all liked my card.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges,

Casology where the cue word is "dress"

Thank you for stopping by. Happy Crafting.

Cheers!!

Flipping whale

Hello friends,

I got some time to share an interesting interactive card with you all. Here you go,

My darling whale from lawn fawn can do a terrific flip. Do you want to see? Here is a small video for you all. Hit the play button to watch it.

Do you want to know how I made this? Well, I was inspired by a talented artist Connie Stewart at youtube. Later I came to know Sandy Allnock ( well known fabulous crafter) also made a card after her. So sharing both of their making videos here. Click the links and learn to make one for yourself. It's so interesting and fun.
