Hello friends,
I'm Raga here.
Hope you're all in full swing for Diwali celebration.
For those who are not aware of Diwali (for my international friends), here is a short description.
Diwali
Diwali, or Deepawali, is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. This festival is as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Christians.
Diwali is a five day festival of lights celebrated by the Hindus, Sikhs and Jains for a variety of reasons, although the main theme which runs throughout is the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
To celebrate, houses are decorated with candles and colourful lights and huge firework displays are held while families feast and share gifts.
Blog Hop
To make the celebration more joyful, we have come up with a blog hop filled with wonderful inspirations and generous sponsors. Special thanks to all the sponsors for taking this hop to next level.
Special thing about this hop: Card Drive
As we are neck-deep in our celebrations, surrounded by our families, it would really be ungrateful if we miss to remember all those Real-life heros who make it possible for us to enjoy all this securely and fearlessly, in our homes. As a token of our gratitude and to acknowledge their sacrifice for us, we sent out handmade cards to a few Army and Air Force units all over our country, as a part of this hop. A small effort from our side to convey that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
This was made possible by our teammie Ishani , who herself is a part of the Indian Air Force family.
These are the cards that were sent to the brave hearts from my side. I'm so happy as they were acknowledged by them with thanks and simple sweet talk over phone. We are so proud and grateful to honour our real heroes on this occasion.
My cards for the hop:
Card 1:
Techniques used: Ink smooshing, stacked diecuts to create dimension, ink blending, dry embossing, handwritten sentiment
Card 2:
Techniques used: Ink smooshing, die- cutting, heat embossing, handwritten sentiment.
Card 3:
Techniques used: Spinner Mechanism, stamping, fussy cut, digitally printed sentiment.
Card 4:
Techniques used: Die-cutting, dry embossing, EZ lights, handwritten sentiment, hand-drawn and fussy cut Diya.
Here is my card in action mode,
Hope you all like my cards. I'm so excited to hop along with you to see my friends' creations.
Raga Senthil --> You are here at the last stop 😊
